They are made of Scotchgarded Felt sandwiched between Waterproof Plywood and soft cork backing .There is no care needed for the coasters since they have been treated with sealer and lacquer just like a piece of high quality furniture.
Do not put it in the dishwasher or leave it in the sink under water. If it gets dirty simply wipe it down with a damp cloth.

The coaster are cute not sure how the wood will hold-up to actually liquids on them over time. I may but a coating over them. But I think my daughter will like them.
